Feel like Drawing Now Art Fair!

The two fairs, the Salon du dessin and  Drawing Now Art Fair will take place from March 28 to 31 at the Palais Brogniart and Carreau du Temple in Paris respectively. For collectors and art lovers alike, it's the perfect opportunity to find so many of yesterday's and tomorrow's talents in one place, and above all, the pleasure of meeting, in the privileged context of a visit by a small group of enthusiasts, the professional circles and galleries that count on the Art Market. After the FIAC and the Biennale des Antiquaires, I'm delighted to be back again,  Frédéric ELKAIMon Friday, March 29, 2019 for a exciting programmingof the two events in one day.

The attendance of fairs becomes unavoidable

This time of study and analysis focuses on the evolution of artists' work, alternating with subtle trends in the art market. Difficult to decipher from the outside, this approach to the workings at the heart of the art market enables us to better understand the economic positioning strategies of artists and their "curators", and the interplay between institutional organizations and major collectors. Should we follow the general trend or seek out emerging artists with potential? How does an artist's market value evolve? What criteria does the market impose on artists? The highlight of the day is usually a lunchtime debate with a guest speaker, renowned for his or her expertise in the art world. We'll be able to talk freely with Benoît Porcher, from the SEMIOSE Gallery.  For Drawing Now, visiting some of the 71 galleries (30% of which are foreign), as well as discovering more than 200 contemporary artists exhibiting on two levels will make us appreciate only a part of the richness of the event.

To go further

Every day there will be daily talks and interviews with artists, videos, a Master Now course, and this year: ACTON! For me, this is a first, and being accompanied by a professional art historian allows me to understand the context of the works presented and to appreciate the evolution of artistic research. More than 10 drawing performances are programmed to punctuate the week and always bring the drawing out of the sheet.
We will finish in beauty at the Salon du dessin with the XIVth International Meetings of the Salon du dessin on the theme of the show.
If you are interested, please contact Frédéric Elkaim directly on his Art NOW! website and we will be able to comment together on the works of the artists nominated for the Guerlain Foundation's Contemporary Drawing Prize.
