News of the day NFT Crypto-art : the Metaverse of Artprice

"The future of NFT and Metavers by Artprice"

Each week, let's take the time to focus on one piece of information among the boiling news of "NFT and Crypto-art".

Here I share with you my vision and experience on how the art market works. This week the NFTs or Crypto-art news moves to the Metavers. As you already know as an investor or collector, the valuation of a physical and/or digital work is linked to the historical context. But since the beginning of the year, we are living an incredible time with the advent of a new artistic movement linked to an ecosystem opening the field of possibilities.

Continuous information

For beginners

If you have never heard of NFTs and Crypto-art, I invite you to find your bearings in the press. To find keys to understanding in French, I invite you to listen to the latest podcast "Maman, je vais tout t'expliquer sur les NFTs" from La martingale by Matthieu Stefani with John Karp.

Again, I thank the small groups of art enthusiasts and NFT who open public chat rooms on the Clubhouse audio app. Since I was nominated on March 27, 2021, I have been following the exchanges between several communities ranging from the more technical to the more philosophical!

Newletters, Rooms and Podcasts in French

Now you can follow the rooms on Twitter live, a recent feature.

  • Benjamin Spark and Florent Thurin discuss NFTs from the perspective of creatives and artists. You can listen again to the podcasts of the art of NFT.
  • John Karp and Remy Péretz, collections and art projects more broadly from the crypto and online gaming community complete the understanding of the NFT (Non fungible Token) market ecosystem. This week NFT Morning is dedicated to the extension in Metavers.
  • Collectors on the Discord server
  • With NFT France, Nikola NIKSIC proposes a database with the ambition to be "the first media dedicated to NFT" .

In summary, it is necessary to follow the news regularly to update the information that evolves with surprises.

To Artprice's Metavers

Today, I wanted to share with you this information of the day "Artprice's Metavers Manifesto."

An essential site for the quotation of artists
  • I have chosen to talk to you about Artprice because all buyers, investors, professionals or amateurs systematically connect to this platform. For 20 years, Artprice has become the essential database on the international art market. The results of public auctions throughout the world include more than 767,000 artists.
  •  The historical Anglo-Saxon auction houses offer works in digital format. Moreover, these works were created by artists not recognized by the traditional contemporary art market on the international scene. To add to the complexity, they have accepted cryptocurrencies and the smart-contract format NFT. We must recognize at this point that access to understanding the eco-system is rather complex and hazardous.

An ecosystem linked to crypto-currencies

  • However, some digital works sold in NFT format are considered as the masterpieces of the 21st century. They testify of a new artistic movement "the crypto-art". It should be added that the buyers have a particular profile. Indeed, the fortunes linked to the rise of crypto-currencies have allowed to reinvest significant sums in this new artistic approach.
  •  At the same time, the Metavers is now seen as an extension of a social network. Tomorrow it may be the end of the Internet. The Matavers will integrate new functionalities in 2D and 3D.

"The Metavers of Artprice's headquarters is located in the heart of the Museum of Contemporary Art L'Organe managing the Abode of Chaos " Thierry Ehrmann

In conclusion, Thierry Ehrmann, French Founder of the Artprice website announces that we are living in a period similar to the "Italian Renaissance". He announces the fusion of the site and new functionalities in a virtual museum. For example, artists will be able to have their own laboratory. Already more than 6000 works have been digitized. Artists, collectors and galleries will be able to use new features as an extension of contemporary art fairs.
